Dr. Pamela (Pam) Kaczmarek is the owner of Pronk Professional Services, LLC which is a small specialty niche private practice providing professional services to individual and organizations nationwide. She provides training, custom presentations, forensic testing, and clinical therapeutic services that directly and indirectly treat conditions such as Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Stress Management, Anxiety, Depression, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), Hoarding Disorder, and Trauma.
In addition to offering training programs, she provides direct clinical care to her patients via Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Somatic Experiencing, Talk Therapy, Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), as well as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to help address the physiological issues behind trauma, anxiety & related disorders, and depression. Additionally, she offers cutting edge, state-of-art experiential therapy.
Her educational background includes earning her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Roosevelt University in Chicago - an American Psychological Association (APA) accredited program, as well as a Master of Arts in Clinical Professional Psychology, a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Columbia, and an Associate’s Degree in Science. She is a licensed clinical psychologist in Wisconsin with expertise in Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Psychological Trauma including complex and developmental trauma, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), Panic, Phobias, Hoarding Disorder, OC Spectrum Disorders, and Anxiety. Her Doctoral dissertation is entitled: Conceptualizing the Chaos behind Compulsive Hoarding: Nosological Considerations, Clinical Implications, and Future Directions.
She has specialized training to treat PTSD, c-PTSD, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) from the BTTI (Behavior Therapy Training Institute) and International OCD Foundation, which address such challenging issues as Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), Compulsive Hoarding Disorder and a variety of OC Spectrum Disorders. She also works with Dental & Medical Phobias, eating disorders and grief, and is Trauma Counseling Level II Certified from the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee School of Continuing Education. Additionally, she has completed EMDR training through EMDRIA and has completed EMDR level II (highest) training.
While in graduate school, Dr. Kaczmarek's academia training included a full year practicum at Youth Service Bureau where she worked with at-risk youth and families while attaining her Master's Degree in Clinical Professional Psychology. Additionally, for well over two decades, Pam worked part time "behind the scenes" at an international Industrial/Organization Psychology organization with I/O psychologists. After attaining her Master’s, she continued on for a doctorate degree for which training included completion of a full year externship in adult neuropsychology at The Memory Center: The University of Chicago Center for Comprehensive Care and Research on Memory Disorders as well as an additional full year externship at Northwestern Memorial Hospital's Stone Institute of Psychiatry Outpatient Treatment Center in Chicago. She completed her Psychology Internship and Post Doc years at a large non-profit hospital consortium in Wisconsin where she continued to work with patients on an outpatient basis before extending her services with private practice.
Dr. Kaczmarek considers herself to be a true eclectic practitioner using evidence-based and evidence-informed methods while drawing on the synergistic powers of Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy (REBT), Solution-Focused, Client-Centered, and Experiential therapies. She uses Somatic Experiencing® (SE) originated by Dr. Peter Levine PhD and EMDR to address deeply rooted psychological traumas with patients, as well as CBT, Talk Therapy and Prolonged Exposure.
Dr. Kaczmarek has been called upon to provide services to clients who represent defendants in Court and provides services such as forensic testing, diagnostic clarification, second opinion, consultation, report writing, letters to the Court, and expert court witness for trial cases within her expertise. She is certified in Child & Family Studies, and is a Wisconsin State Court Certified Family & Divorce Mediator.
In addition to the impact of psychological trauma on the brain, hoarding disorder, and OCD, her growing clinical interests include novel approaches to chronic pain management, the neurobiology of human attachment, and interpersonal neurobiology (see Dan Siegel MD, Allan Schore PhD, and Stephen Porges PhD), working with first responders (police, fire fighters, combat and non-combat Veterans, etc.), and professional/athletic psychological performance enhancement.
Dr. Kaczmarek travels throughout the country delivering her full day continuing education seminar on Hoarding Disorder for PESI / Cross Country Education where she applies adult learning methods combined with clinical case examples and cleverly timed humor to passionately train professionals. She is consistently recognized for her genuine passion (as well as compassion), humor, being “present”, and continually staying knowledgeable in her field. Dr. Kaczmarek has been quoted in newspapers and interviewed on the radio discussing topics such as coping with adversity, depression and compulsive hoarding.
